Making Memories

Hello again everyone. The last time I posted something we were on our first day in Desert Hot Springs. During our seven day stay we visited the Joshua Tree National Park, golf twice at the golf course at the resort and toured Palm Springs and the surrounding areas. We had a great time but in a blink of an eye it was time to get things ready for the road. From there we were hoping to camp out in Malibu Beach on the ocean but when we got there it was raining cats and dogs and the wind was so strong that it prevented us from staying. Our drive ended in Pismo Beach which was a trailer park on the ocean. So far the most beautifull place to camp. In the morning I took the dogs for a walk in the bay and then in the afternoon Punch, the dogs and I went on the beach at the ocean. It was so much fun. I felt like a five year old kid that wasn't allowed to get her feet or pants wet, well I did both. I ran with the dogs in the water till we all got tired and returned to find Punch sitting on the beach watching us. That night we went for a walk on the long pier and just watched the waves come in and out. We also managed to play golf again at the Pismo State Park Golf course.
Today since it was raining we decided to tour Hearst Castle in San Simeon. It turned out to be a really good trip the top of the mountain had the most spectacular view and the castle was humongous. It turned out to be a really nice day considering the weather. But I guess when your doing things with a close friend everything seems nicer. We will be leaving tomorrow for greener pasture wherever that is. Wish everyone could experience what we do because we sure are having fun.

On The Road Again March 2011

San Diego, California
First day on the road we made it to San Diego. We will spend a few days touring this nice city again this year since we enjoyed it so much last year. Weather is 82 degrees today. Tomorrow we are off to the Pacific Ocean.
Well we did make it out to the ocean and as you can see from the news about the Tsunami we went just in time. Punch found a beautifull sand dollar that we are hoping will bring us luck during our travels. We went out for supper at Fillippi's in Little Italy and the food was great.
We are now in Palm Springs and we will be staying here for about a week. We are going to try to take in a round or two of golf since the resort we are in has a golf course right in it. It's called the "Sands RV & Golf Resort. This park also comes with a all grassed in Doggy Park. It's so nice to see grass again since in Mesa you would have to buy grass to own any. The girls are loving it. There making new friends already. Weather is 87 degrees today.

Spring in Arizona

Yes it is spring in some places. For Arizonians it usually starts in February. The trees and cactus are in bloom and the weather starts to be in the mid seventies. So far this year the temperature was a bit cool in January but it did warm up fast. We got about two days of rain which is a lot for Arizona. They do appreciate the rain though.
Punch and I had a great time in February. We went to Las Vegas to meet Renee and Pat. They were down in Vegas to celebrated Pat's 40th birthday. It was really great to see them and we had a good time visiting with them. Visists always seem to short when your enjoying each others company. Norm was down in Vegas too but we missed him since he had to leave on Saturday. He sure had a marvelous time if you go by the pictures he posted on Facebook. Hope to see him there next year.

Compared to last year we stayed more at home and did less visiting. We did manage to go to Castle Rock for a ride and we did take in the Renaissance Festival again. It is really good fun and the turkey legs are yummy.
We finished playing Boccie on February 22nd and we came in first this year. We are having our supper on March 6th.
The puppies are fine and we have been going to a potluck supper every Wednesday near the doggy park now that doggy training is over and yes we did pass. Food is always a plenty and the company is great also. We have made really good friends and they sure will be missed after we leave but most of them are coming back next year. Punch and I are hoping to be back also if all goes well.Since we are staying a few weeks longer this year we got to see the Mesa Spirit Parade. It was really nice and people were having a good time.

We will be leaving on March 9th but taking about three weeks to get to B. C. I'm sure that we will enjoy every minute of our trip back.
I do have to add that for a day we opened our own Dog Grooming Shop. The brainstorm idea seem to be a great one at the time but by the end of the day the Shop was out of business and poor Muffin was to embarrass too go to the park. They do say that her hair will grow back but I do sure feel sorry for her till it does.

January 2011

The beginning of a New Year. Our friend Wayne and Reita have left Mesa Spirit and are heading out to greener pastures. We sure will miss them but we will make sure to visit them in Kelowna, B.C. in April on our way to visit the girls. Wishing them all the best on their new adventures. The dogs will miss litlle Furby. Doggy park will never be the same without the BOSS.
Most of January is almost over and we still haven't had time to go golfing. Where does the time go. We have started playing Bocce again. Lorraine and Bill our friends from Alberta are our new partners this year and so far we have done pretty good.
We lost our candyman this year. He passed away in July 2010. My friend Jack who is 94 this year will not be returning to Mesa Spirit next year. He and Doris decided that it was time to call it quits after 35 years of coming down from B.C. He sure will be missed at Bocce.
Good luck Jack and Doris.
Punch goes to his woodcarving classes on Thursdays and play Texas Hold Them with some friends on Friday nights. It keeps him busy and during this time me and the doggy girls spend our time catching up with this blog. It sure is a lot of work especially when you have a whole year to catch up on. I will try to be better this year at it.
Punch sure isn't having the best of times. His back sure gives him a lot of problems still. Hope he get to feeling better soon.

Christmas 2010

Well Christmas is coming upon us once again. November sure flew by fast. We were busy socializing with our new and old friends. We have met so many nice people this year especially at the doggy park. We have a potluck supper just for the dog owners, but every week more people show up that don't own a dog just to meet and greet new people. It's a lot of fun.
We are also busy with eight weeks of dog training we have enrolled ourselves in. I'm not to sure if it will help the dogs but it seems to be helping us. Since we were in Arizona later this year we got to see quite a few X-mas light displays. They were really nice only the snow was missing.
We flew to Alliston for Christmas to spend it with Denis and his family. The first week we managed to go down to Sudbury and visit the family. We stayed at Rock's and Nicole. They really treat us well. We also got to see Marie and Len's new home in Espanola since they had cooked a nice turkey supper for us. We aslo met up with Larry and Gisele for supper in Chelmsford. It was really nice to see them again. To bad Guy and Pauline couldn't join us. Maybe next time. I also didn't have time to see my dear friends Lise, Carolle, Carmen and Claire but hope their holidays were good ones.
We had a very nice Christmas but it was really sad to have to be away from the Gagnon and the Fournier family during this time of the year. But you know what, we got to chat on Skype and we managed to get through it with only a few tears. We had a lot of fun with Owen. Never a dull moment with him around. What a joy.
Well time came again for us to say our goodbyes till May. It was sad to go but it was also time for all of us to get back to our routine.

Rock and Nicole's visit.

Finally November 2nd is here and we go pick up Rock and Nicole at the Phoenix airport. It was so nice to see them. They had rented a park model for their stay which happened to be just in front of us. We spent two great weeks visiting the Grand Canyon, Verde Canyon by train, the Phoenix Zoo, Apache Trail and various other scenic places. They also got to shop for their new baby granddaughter(alot of pink stuff). Liane their daughter is expecting at the end of March early April 2011. Congrats to them.
While they were here they also showed us how to play hand and foot which is a new card game. We had a competition going againts the men. The end result was with the men winning I hate to admit it though.
Well two weeks sure goes by fast when your having such a good time and before we knew it we were heading back to the airport to see them off. We will miss you Rock and Nicole and thanks for visiting. You were our first guests and hope to have a few more.

Back in Mesa, Arizona Oct 2010

October 23rd 2010 we finally arrive at our home for the winter Mesa, Arizona. We had a really nice trip down. The weather was nice and the dogs were really good travellers. We are at the same resort as last year and hope that we will be able to settle in OK again this year. We are on lot J26 which is in the pet area. I'm sure that Muffin and Miss Oreo will fit right in at the doggy park. Now we just have to get everything set up since Rock and Nicole are coming for a visit on November 2nd for two weeks. Can't wait.
